It was an very bad holiday, the van was terrible, windows not open, engine making sometimes and terrible noise, waters coming in the car from somewhere, curtens are very dirty and old and some small other things. So l was not very happy with all Hans Lekkerkerker the Netherlands
2 hours waiting for someone to provide van key on first day dispite earlier agreementto meet at 14:30 no show till 16:30 -no cooker as paid for provided but gas bottle supplied -instructed no not used awning due to rip which is a huge impact considering recent weather -bed sheets and linen provide as a one off payment but recharged ever extension -Blow out on rear driver wheel and rudely told by owner it was due to manner off driving when no long distance travel or off road undertaken -Extremely poor customer service while stranded in the rain at side of road for 3 hours -instructed how to use hot water but never worked -informed window is defected and does not work or lock resulting in flapping around -Extremely disappointed and ruin the travel trip -would not recommend for hire for anyone who is looking for a comfortable arrangement
Spent 8 days with it, went perfectly with absolultely 0 problem. Few minor things are damaged inside but didn't make any inconvenience, I'd say for its age and price that's fair. Good communication with Aviv and Sarah. I recommend renting with their company.

That was exactly as described, travelled well with no issues whatsoever. Everything was straightforward.
Its an older van so a little clunky to drive but well worth it for the price.
Very cruisy drive, camper van will take you anywhere you like! Communication with Byron Bay Campers was pleasant, even got some tips for camping spots. If travelling in winter, ask for extra blankets.
While I had a great trip in the Toyota Hiace campervan (which was better on gas and roomier than expected), I did encounter a significant issue that marred my overall experience. On day 9 of my 29 day rental we woke up to find a flat tire which we immediately replaced with the provided full sized spare. Flat tires are frustrating but relatively common on road trips and are generally simple enough to fix. The bigger frustration was dealing with Aviv, the owner of Byron Bay Campers. We drove to a highly rated tire shop a few minutes away after we had a fully inflated tire on (Capricorn Tyre and Brake) and they informed us that the flat tire was excessively worn and it would be illegal for them to repair it. They said it was worn due to the tires not being rotated which was concerning. Despite this, Aviv was initially reluctant to pay for a replacement for the now used spare tire and suggested we drive without a spare and that we should call for roadside help if we get another flat. So, he was ok with us potentially being stranded in some remote location in the heat of an Australian summer, possibly without cell phone reception, unable to drive somewhere safe to get help, which could be avoided as long as we have a spare. He told me the tire was worn because the camper van is used a lot. No sh*t Sherlock!!! Thats why you need to rotate the tires frequently! On the phone with the representative of Capricorn Tyre and Brake, Aviv tried accusing me of wearing down the tires, after only 9 days of driving roughly over 1000 km. Eventually, he agreed to cover the cost of a new spare tire ($128). While I appreciate the resolution, the situation required considerable effort and assertiveness from my end to ensure safe and legal driving conditions. It's extremely important and necessary for rental agencies, especially those involving vehicles, to maintain their equipment to safe and legal standards and to support customers in emergency situations without hesitation. On day 10 we also had to add motor oil as it was running really low. While this wasnt difficult for us to do and the campervan had a container of oil in the trunk, I'm left puzzled as to why the oil levels weren't checked and replenished prior to us receiving the campervan. I hope this feedback encourages Byron Bay Campers to improve their service and vehicle maintenance for future clients, and hope they replace all the tires before renting out this campervan again. I suggest Byron Bay Campers be transparent with how they will deal with future issues by writing a plan on their website so future clients can feel safe and supported in advance, perhaps include a maintenance plan and pre-drop-off checklist beyond what Camplify has on their blog. I also suggest using a new mechanic as they should know when to rotate the tires and when to add oil and they have clearly failed in this regard. While Byron Bay Campers was generally quick to respond there were still communication issues such as showing up 2 hours after the agreed upon drop-off time and not providing linens that I paid for. I also had to ask too many times over a period of months to cancel my date change request. I had booked the campervan about 6 months in advance so there some modifications to the date while I figured out when we needed it dropped off and picked up. I had sent a request to end my rental two days earlier than originally planned (Jan 29) but decided to keep the campervan longer so we could camp with family (until Jan 31). After asking multiple times in writing over a period of months, and 1 time verbally to please NOT APPROVE THE DATE CHANGE request, Aviv then approved the date change despite me asking multiple times to please not do so. I suggest Byron Bay Campers look into CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools to help prevent these mistakes from happening. The Toyota Hiace is a great campervan to travel in, but I recommend renting from elsewhere. Overall I found renting from Byron Bay Campers exhausting and stressful.
This is a great little camper which is basic and so budget friendly. It has everything you need for a little getaway. Super easy to drive and runs well. The owner was super easy to deal with and very obliging.
The van is the perfect size, you can stand inside and organize things without feeling suffocated. Its comfortable for 2 people just as its described. Everything was okay, the main thing would be that the engine works very hard while going up a hilly street and it gets noisy, but probably because the van its too heavy for it.
This is a great compact camper. Comes with all the basics you need and handles the northern NSW hills very easily. The solar charger and battery mean that you can travel and work remote. Easy pickup and dropoff and great service.
My daughter, her dog and I had the best little trip up to the sunshine coast, she was perfect!
